WorkSmart provide unique, corporate health and wellbeing services

Corporate Wellbeing Services

WorkSmart originated from an idea from our founder, based in Lancashire, who realised that businesses could be so much more profitable if they looked after their number 1 asset: their people. We wanted to take the difficulty out of managing staff health and wellbeing by helping organisations empower their staff and creating initiatives that develop a positive wellbeing culture.

Our team provide a wide variety of corporate health and wellbeing services for businesses who are experiencing a high turnover in staff or have noticed that their employee’s productivity has declined. We also like help businesses get ahead of problems, working in a more cost effective and proactive way to help prevent health and wellbeing issues.

Services: Initial Assessment

  • Health questionnaires: A great starting point for any business, which are designed to establish employee needs and preferences. It is also a useful tool to highlight employee attitudes towards work and wellbeing. It offers the business a clearer picture of what initiatives are needed to tackle issues found. The results will be collated, a report produced, then delivered and presented to the key stakeholders in the organisation.
  • 1 to 1 health checks: These checks are designed to raise awareness of the employees current health. These personalised checks impart knowledge and motivate change in those who would benefit from making changes to their current lifestyle behaviours. Blood pressure, weight, body mass index, resting heart rate and full body composition analysis can be measured and feedback given within half an hour.
  • 1 to 1 wellbeing drop ins: These sessions are delivered in at least half hourly periods and are designed to offer staff a safe, confidential and impartial space in which to discuss problems, have time to reflect and leave with a clearer picture of how to deal with the issue. These sessions tend to work best when they are delivered cyclically, where staff can return and have accountability for their goals, but also, because we know that having a safe space to deal with problems is both therapeutic and extremely beneficial for staff.

Training courses and programmes

  • Wellbeing Champion training course: The Wellbeing Champion training course is one of few recognised CPD UK accredited courses, designed to support businesses with their health and wellbeing agenda from the inside. This course is interactive and impactful, allowing candidates time to produce action plans for their respective workplaces and an option to have regular monthly support to ensure the wellbeing theme doesn’t lose it’s momentum. Half day refreshers are conducted annually to ensure all candidates have up to date information and refresh their knowledge and skills. Champions know their work areas and colleagues better than anyone, so they will be best placed to know what will work in that environment and can disseminate resources that will benefit their colleagues. The training takes place over one and a half days.
  • Managerial coaching programme: this is a programme of work to support managers to deal with productivity, performance and wellbeing issues in their teams. Most managers receive little if coaching on how to thrive in a leadership role, let alone the issues they will face and how to deal with them effectively. This is a proactive piece of work that draws upon experience from attendees, but also of the facilitator, a level 5 ILM leadership coach and mentor. The programme runs over the course of the year with the business committing to 12 half day sessions for attendees. Topics will include effective use of communication, coaching, how to support health and wellbeing, team cultures, morale, accountability and increasing employee engagement. Managers will complete a variety of tasks included in their workbooks throughout the course and receive useful resources too!
